The Fieldworks team is founded by individuals who have been pioneers in the community solar space, together bringing decades of experience. Inspired by the growth in this space and opportunities created by recent Federal legislation and programming, the founders are eager to roll up their sleeves and get to work delivering solutions to communities. The Fieldworks team is passionate about bringing value to landowners and thoughtful solar development that maximizes benefits to communities.
Meet The
Fieldworks Team
Sarah Moon
Co-Founder & Principal
Sarah, as the Co-Founder of Fieldworks Power, plays a key role in the overall management and strategic direction of the company. She is specifically responsible for handling all state and federal policy, regulatory, and market work.
Sarah brings foundational business expertise and deep recent experience in Community Solar to the team. Prior to her involvement with Fieldworks at DSD Renewables (a BlackRock Company), she led all customer acquisition, regulatory affairs, and market strategy related to Community Solar. Through her efforts, she oversaw the growth of a diverse portfolio comprising over 150 projects totaling more than 370 MW of Community Solar projects across 11 states: over 50% of the organization’s capacity. Notably, Sarah was instrumental in securing offtake agreements for over 200 MW of Community Solar assets, including anchor contracts with esteemed Fortune 100 companies such as T-Mobile, AT&T, and Dollar Tree.
Before joining DSD, Sarah held the position of Director of Business Development at Solstice Power Technologies, where she focused on establishing a successful pipeline of projects for the organization's community solar customer outreach work. Additionally, Sarah got her start in McMaster-Carr's (a 120 year old family-owned company) Management Rotational program, where she had the privilege of leading teams of over 30 individuals, allowing her to refine and develop her leadership skills.
Sarah's practical experience is complemented by her academic achievements. She holds degrees from both Harvard College and Chicago Booth. Sarah's diverse skill set and accomplishments make her a valuable asset in driving the success of Fieldworks Power and contributing to the advancement of the Community Solar industry.
In her free time Sarah loves to read, go on hikes with her dog Geo, and despite her lack of a green thumb, grow vegetables in her backyard garden. Born and raised in the Berkshires, Sarah now has established roots in California.

Jon Morton
Co-Founder & Principal
Jon, as the Co-Founder of Fieldworks Power, plays a key role in the overall management and strategic direction of the company. He is specifically responsible for leading the day to day development activities for the company.
Jon has an extensive energy background spanning Development, Finance, M&A, Offtake Origination, Asset Management, Community Solar Subscription Management and Corporate exits. Prior to founding Fieldworks Power, Jon was the founding member of the Asset Acquisitions team at DSD Renewables (a BlackRock Company) where he created the go to market strategy and successfully built a team of 10 direct and indirect reports that acquired 300 megawatts (60+ discrete projects over 26 transactions in 9 states) of solar projects nationwide. This business made up 40% of the DSD’s pipeline by value and generated the highest value per employee in the company.
Before joining DSD, Jon led the M&A team at Nautilus Solar where he oversaw a team of 10 industry professionals that were responsible for executing on the company's project acquisition and development strategy where it successfully acquired 150 megawatts of community solar projects across 8 states. Jon was responsible for spearheading Nautilus’ move into the residential community solar space and devised its customer acquisition strategy and partnerships. Jon was also integral in the sale of Nautilus Solar to Power Corporation of Canada (TSX:POW).
Earlier in his career Jon has held various positions at GE EFS, Terraform Power and Element Power (sold to Capital Power (TSX:CPX).
Jon comes to the energy business with a bachelor of business administration and minor in economics from Boston University.
Outside of work Jon and his partner Lauren can be found skiing in the mountains or spending time on water. Jon recently settled back closer to his roots in New England after a decade in Oregon and Washington state.

CJ Gooderham
Development Manager
CJ Gooderham is a Development Manager for Fieldworks Power, specializing in greenfield development from the beginning to end of the project development cycle. CJ has extensive experience in the greenfield development of Utility-Scale solar projects across the United States, and has worked for both start-up solar developers and Fortune 500 IPP companies. He is also the Co-Founder of Equitable Solar Solutions, a 501(c)3 that redistributes unwanted or unused solar equipment to low-income communities to give more equitable energy access in the U.S. He is in the Forbes 30 Under 30 Class of 2022 for his contributions in renewable energy. His main passions are bowhunting and flyfishing in the Rocky Mountains when he isn't developing solar projects with Fieldworks Power!
